Most of our current set are covers - but not copies - of classic material. Houdini Feel don't attempt to be a jukebox.
Our aim is not to be faithful to the originals but to take their spirit and bring them into the here and now. We constantly rework material, often live, so we hope you will always get quality music but you are unlikely to hear the same song played the same way twice. We like to move things around musically, hence Houdini Feel - How do we get out of this one?
The different influences each of the band members brings from their own musical history creates what we think is an interesting take on the classic tracks we cover.
Our guitarist, Colin Cripps, grew up covering Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Jimi Hendrix before branching out into different musical styles. Colin has a wealth of experience within the music industry having played in many Rock, Folk and Blues bands, has written and released his own music, including a rock opera, and once headlined at Cambridge folk festival with "Maggie's Farm".
The drummer in the band is Clive Woolf; Clive has many years of experience playing drums in many different bands, some local, some overseas, along with studio session work, and for a time made his living as a professional musician. Clive's background and experience comes from the music of Motown, from soul and modern jazz, and artists such as Jamie Callum, The Average White Band and George Benson.
